ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister House’s security is being called into question as more alleged audios featuring several ministers of the ruling coalition surfaced on Sunday.
A day earlier, a leaked recording that supposedly featured Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went viral on social media, containing discussion regarding PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s request for an Indian power plant to be imported for her son-in-law.
A voice, purported to be that of Prime Minister Sharif, can be heard in the longer than two-minute audio tape that PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry posted on Twitter on Saturday asking him to help Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Raheel with the import of machinery for a power plant from India.

The clips which surfaced today, allegedly featuring PM Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and others, contains a discussion regarding PTI’s resignations.

The first audio purports to show a discussion concerning Miftah, who has apparently come under fire inside the party for implementing strict economic policies, between PML-N Vice President Maryam and the premier.

“He doesn’t take responsibility, says strange things on TV which people make fun of him for… he doesn’t know what he is doing,” the voice said to be Maryam’s says in the alleged audio.
The voice purported to be PM Shehbaz’s is heard as saying “He clearly cut corners.”
“Uncle, he doesn’t know what he is doing,” Maryam purportedly says, as she wishes for the return of PML-N stalwart Ishaq Dar.
The second audio apparently shows a discussion about the resignations of PTI legislators from the lower house of parliament involving the prime minister, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Law Minister Azam Tarar, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and former NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

Moreover, PTI leaders were in overdrive questioning the PMO’s security, however, the government maintained its silence on the matter.
Fawad Chaudhry questioned the cyber security situation in the country, saying that PM House’s data has been put on sale on the dark web.
“It is a major failure of our intelligence agencies, especially the Intelligence Bureau (IB),” Fawad tweeted “Apart from political issues, important discussions on security and foreign issues are now in everyone’s hands.”

KP minister Taimur Khan Jhagra, who has also been a victim of an audio leak, said: “8GB of hacked leaks from PMO. Regardless of who is speaking, this Orwellian culture of recordings is disgusting.”
Will someone answer under what law and who is taping the conversations of the political leadership, whether in the PMO or on the phone, he questioned. “And who is accountable for the security of this data?”
One of the supposed audios, according to former federal minister Shireen Mazari, shows the foundation being laid for Dar’s return.

She claimed that the released audios “clearly demonstrate the role of prisoner Nawaz Sharif and his prisoner-on-bail daughter in the functioning of this imported government itself a cabal of criminals.”
The “true issue,” she continued, was who had originally bugged the Prime Minister’s Office or the Prime Minister’s House.
