GUJRAT: In a horrific incident that took place last evening, five people lost their lives and three others were critically injured in a firing between two groups over a monetary dispute in Trerwanwala, Kharian.
According to the details provided by the police, the Mehar group members arrived at the dera of Haji Fazal to collect their money. However, the dispute took an ugly turn when both sides began firing shots at each other, resulting in the death of five people and leaving three others injured.
Among the deceased were 53-year-old Muhammad Nawaz of Fazal Group, while Nasir Mehar (40), Saddam Butt (30), and Sajjad Mithu (40) were from the Mehar Group. Haji Fazal, Ehsan, and Faisal sustained injuries in the incident.
The police reported that the rival parties were trying to resolve their monetary dispute when Shehzad alias Mitho suddenly took out his pistol and opened fire, and at the same time, the other party also started firing, resulting in the tragic deaths.
The incident has triggered a wave of panic and grief in the entire area. The police have started an investigation into the matter and have assured the residents of the area of bringing the culprits to justice.
