PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi arrived at Dubai Stadium before the India-Pakistan match. The PCB chairman watched Pakistan’s practice session, had friendly chats with the players, and also held consultations with the coaches.
According to national media, speaking to the journalists, he said that Pakistan is expected to win the match, tomorrow will be a good contest, the Pakistan team is fully prepared, things go up and down, but InshaAllah, Pakistan will win.
He stated that if the national team wins, it will be a great reward for Pakistan. PCB Chairman said, “Ask India how they would feel if they were playing in Lahore. The message to the team is that whether they win or lose, we stand with them.”
On the question regarding the wrong anthem (Indian anthem) being played in the Lahore match, Mohsin Naqvi said that the ICC is investigating the matter, as it is the organizer of this tournament. He added that Pakistan, as a goodwill gesture, has released 22 Indian fishermen.
It is noteworthy that on Saturday, during the Australia vs. England match at Gaddafi Stadium, the Indian anthem was played. Media sources state that the Pakistan Cricket Board has sought clarification from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding how the Indian anthem was played during the Australia vs. England match.
Sources revealed that the playlist for the Champions Trophy anthems was prepared by the ICC. Despite India’s absence in Pakistan, the ICC included India’s anthem in the playlist. Playing the anthem during the match was the ICC’s responsibility.
