LAHORE: Pakistan’s former captain Mohammad Hafeez, who had tested positive for COVID-19 by tests conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has tested negative for virus in a retest.
The former captain confirmed the news in a twee where he wrote that after being tested COVID-19 positive, according to the PCB testing, he took the second opinion.

In a tweet he wrote, “After Tested positive COVID-19 acc to PCB testing report yesterday, as 2nd opinion and for satisfaction I personally went to test it again along with my family and here I along with my all family members are reported negative Alham du Lillah. May Allah keep us all safe.”
According to the cricketer, he personally went for the retest along with his family. “I along with my all family members are reported negative,” he wrote. “May Allah keeps us all safe,” he further wrote.
Earlier on Tuesday, the PCB tested its 29 member squad scheduled to fly to England on 28th June for a long tour where ten players test positive. However, Mohammad Hafeez, who had no symptoms went for a retest just to be sure and his second test came negative.
The PCB conducted its tests from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMH). Muhammad Hafeez conducted the retest from the privately-owned Chughtai lab.
