On the first day of the monsoon session in the Indian Parliament, the opposition caused a major uproar demanding a debate on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, leading the Modi government to retreat from the situation.
According to details, during Monday’s session, opposition members led by the Congress party chanted slogans and demanded a detailed discussion from the government on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.
Indian media reported that due to the opposition’s commotion, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions were adjourned shortly after they began. This prompted opposition leaders to openly criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders.
After the session, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the Modi government, stating that only government members are allowed to speak in Parliament. “I am the opposition leader, yet I was not allowed to speak,” he said.
On the other hand, Indian media believes the Modi government plans to hold a discussion on Operation Sindoor in Parliament next week.
It is worth noting that earlier as well, opposition parties in India had demanded that Prime Minister Modi convene a joint session of Parliament regarding Operation Sindoor and the ceasefire.
Opposition parties have demanded that the Modi government provide details about Operation Sindoor and the ceasefire following the Pahalgam attack.
This year, Operation Sindoor and Pakistan-India tensions have been a significant part of global politics, where the Indian government has faced embarrassment on the international stage. The Indian Prime Minister is seen hiding from public accountability.
