Erica Robin, Pakistan’s first Miss Universe contestant, has condemned the tragic incident in Sargodha which killed minorities in the name of blasphemy.
Robin took to Instagram to upload a new picture of the Pakistani flag with the white stripe (which represents minorities of the country) and urged the majority of Pakistanis to raise their voices and demand the removal of the blasphemy law.
She in her long post expressed and noted many crucial points about living in Pakistan as a minority. “It’s a sad truth that minorities in Pakistan are not treated equally to the majority. If it weren’t for the minority votes in 1947, Pakistan wouldn’t exist today.”

She also said that Quaid-e-Azam himself acknowledged that it was because of these minorities that Pakistan came into existence and even Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized respecting all minorities and their religious places as they respect Islam.
“Yet, what is happening in Pakistan is horrendous and has been ongoing for decades. This is the true face of Pakistan,” she noted.
According to Robin, the recent tragic incident in Sargodha, where an innocent person was killed, highlights the ongoing persecution of minorities.
She notified her followers about more similar incidents by adding, “This is not an isolated event; incidents like the Gojra riots, the persecution of Ahmadis, and attacks on Hindu and Christian communities have been occurring for years.”
She also mentioned the misuse of the blasphemy law in Pakistan being missed again and targeting minorities unjustly.
She urged that it’s high time for the majority of Pakistanis to raise their voices and demand the removal of the blasphemy law. “We, as minorities, are an integral part of this nation and deserve equal respect and protection,” she said by adding, “Reflecting on the tragic events in Sargodha and the ongoing injustice faced by minorities in Pakistan.”
Robin concluded the post by showing her love for her country with an eye-opening reminder, “It’s time for change.”
