CHARSADDA: A minor girl was sexually abused after being abducted from her hometown and her mutilated dead body was found a day later.
The two-and-a-half-year-old girl named Zainab was abducted on Tuesday from Charsadda but her body was found in the fields near Peshawar after one day.
According to police, the minor child’s body was mutilated and her chest and abdomen were slit open with a sharp object. The medical authorities confirmed that the minor girl was inflicted with sexual abuse and molestation.
The police sent DNA samples to Khyber Medical College in Peshawar which confirmed that Zainab suffered sexual abuse 18 hours before the body was found.
There have been no leads on the culprits suspected to be involved in the heinous crime. There has been an outpouring of grief and rage on social media as many called for justice over the inhumane incident.
Today also marks two years since the high-profile case of Zainab Ansari, an eight-year-old girl who was raped and killed in Kasur. The culprit was hanged to death and her death led to legislation to stop such incidents.
