KARACHI: Upcoming telefilm of actors Minal Khan and Yasir Hussain ‘Pyaas’ is all about the life of underprivileged women of Kohala Paien.
Produced by Fadia Wajahat, the telefilm aims to shed light on the water crisis in the country.
Minal Khan explains the scrip and her role in the play by saying, “Shameem is a window for me to look into the life of underprivileged women of Kohala Paien, Haripur who walk through many miles to fetch water for their daily use.”

“Portraying a girl who goes through all this was really a lifetime experience for me. We consume water daily but don’t realise how precious it could be, for someone living nearby,” she said.
“Water we consume daily and don’t realise how precious it is for someone living nearby,” said Minal. “Pyaas is the first drop to a series by Wajahat Hussain who is aiming to highlight such issues through a number of plays/ short films,” added Minal.
She thanked Wajahat and added, “Good luck, Wajahat bhai and thank you for giving me a challenging character. I am available in all my capacity for any such opportunity next time too,” the Jalan actor posted, expressing her willingness to work on similar exciting projects in the future.

Besides Khan and Hussain, Adnan Shah Tipu and Madiha Rizvi are also in the cast as supporting roles. No release date of the telefilm has been announced yet.
