RAWALPINDI: Millions of rupees in cash were looted when armed robbers struck a can supply van in Murir Chowk Rawalpindi.
According to details gathered so far, armed robbers attack a van supplying cash to a bank at Murir Chowk, Rawalpindi, and fled from the scene. Initial reports suggest two bags full of cash were robbed in the incident, while two guards were wounded.
According to the police, one guard was injured by a bullet and another by an iron rod in the head, who were later shifted to the hospital for medical assistance. The ash van had come to Bank of Punjab to supply cash.
Police said the security guards were going to take bags full of cash from the cash van and transfer the same to the bank when the robbers attacked them. They said at least 6 robbers riding bikes took part in the robbery, who managed to fled from the scene.
Soon after the incident, police officials rushed to the crime scene and started immediate investigation.
