An impressive collection of music memorabilia, including Michael Jackson’s famous jackets and Noel Gallagher’s beloved guitars, is set to go under the hammer next month, with auction estimates aiming to reach £2 million ($2.61 million).
Entertainment auction house Propstore will feature over 350 iconic items tied to legendary musicians in its November 15 sale, part of a four-day event also showcasing film and television props and costumes.
Among the music highlights is a Jimi Hendrix master tape containing four unreleased demo recordings, complete with a handwritten box listing their titles.
Michael Jackson’s handwritten “Beat It” lyrics, along with several of his signature jackets, will be auctioned as well. Notably, a black-and-gold military-style jacket is estimated at £200,000 – £400,000 ($261,000 – $522,000), while his red “Thriller” rehearsal jacket is adorned with multiple autographs.
Moreover, 15 guitars once owned and played by Noel Gallagher will be featured, making it the largest Oasis guitar collection ever auctioned. This includes his first band guitar, a cream Hohner JT60, estimated at £25,000 – £50,000. “Oasis guitars, particularly Noel’s, are incredibly sought after, especially since the reunion has reignited interest,” Propstore’s music specialist Mark Hochman.
Other notable items include John Lennon’s 1962 Fawn JMI Vox AC15 Twin amp (estimated at £100,000 – £200,000) and a synthesizer used by Prince in recording “Purple Rain” (estimated at £50,000 – £100,000).
