Former Lebanese-American adult film star Mia Khalifa has revealed that her past career still has a negative impact on her daily life.
Mia Khalifa has been away from the industry for several years and has only appeared in fewer than a dozen adult films, yet she remains one of the most well-known and recognized figures from the industry.
In an interview, Mia Khalifa openly discussed her past career and strongly condemned the industry she joined at the age of 21. She warned young women not to follow this path.
Now 31, Mia Khalifa is married and has invested in various business ventures, including OnlyFans, but she still regrets the decision she made a decade ago to work in adult films.
Mia Khalifa explained that the success she gained from working in the industry did not bring her the wealth people might think. Despite her popularity in the adult industry, she only earned $12,000 from her films.
In an interview, Mia Khalifa also shared that her past life continues to affect her daily experiences. In 2020, she mentioned that people’s behavior toward her had changed. She explained that people treat her differently, as if they have the right to touch her or mistreat her in public spaces.
Citing an example, she said, “When I refused to take a selfie with someone, he started being rude to me and began swearing at me, even though we were standing in line for a passport stamp.”
She added that when she was with her husband, someone reacted so rudely to her refusal that both she and her husband felt embarrassed and avoided eye contact with others after the incident.
