The Meteorological Department has released detailed statistics regarding the heavy rainfall that occurred on Saturday afternoon in Karachi.
According to the statement issued by the department, the highest amount of rainfall was recorded in the areas of Nazimabad and Paposh, while the lowest was recorded in DHA Phase 2.
The statement detailed the following rainfall measurements: 37.2 mm in Nazimabad and Paposh, 23 mm in Mauripur, 22 mm in Korangi, and 12 mm in Quaidabad. In other areas, Orangi Town recorded 4.5 mm, DHA Phase 7 recorded 3.5 mm, and the least rainfall was in DHA Phase 2.
Despite the expectation that the rain would bring relief from the heat, the subsequent rise in ground heat dampened the anticipated cooling effect, diminishing the enjoyment brought by the rain.
The varied rainfall across different parts of the city highlights the localized nature of the showers, affecting each area differently. The Meteorological Department continues to monitor weather patterns to provide accurate forecasts and updates. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
