Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the largest ration card initiative in Pakistan’s history, aimed at supporting the working class.
The launch ceremony was attended by provincial ministers and the CEO of JS Bank Zindagi.
Under the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card, 1.2 million laborers and their 8.4 million dependents will receive a monthly subsidy of Rs. 3,000. Essential household items will also be available at discounts of up to 20%.
Salaries and financial assistance will be digitally transferred to JS Bank Zindagi accounts. In addition, insurance coverage includes Rs. 300,000 for accidental death and Rs. 200,000 for permanent disability.
Beyond the facilities offered by PESSI, beneficiaries will also receive extra cash benefits and insurance coverage. JS Bank Zindagi will digitize all PESSI-designated merchants for Raast QR payments.
Other services through JS Bank Zindagi include digital cash transfers, advance salaries, loans, and special rewards on Labour Day.
According to a spokesperson for JS Bank Zindagi, this is the first initiative of its kind in Pakistan that offers comprehensive financial protection to the working class.
