KARACHI: The Vice President of PMLN Maryam Nawaz has apologized for posting a shameful and distasteful tweet regarding the prominent journalist Arshad Sharif, who was killed in Kenya three days back.
Arshad Sharif, it may be added here, was shot dead in Kenya by the local police on Sunday night which was later described as a case of ‘mistaken identity’ in an official statement released to media.

Maryam Nawaz’s insensitive tweet triggered an immediate response from twitterattis, calling her out. Prominent journalists termed her tweet ‘ill-timed’. They advised her to at least go silent on the matter.
Hours later, Maryam took to Twitter and tendered apology.
My tweet was NOT aimed at mocking someone but about learning our lessons from the past. I am undoing the tweet & apologise for the hurt it may have caused to the aggrieved which never was my intention. May no one ever have to go through this pain. Prayers for the bereaved family.
