ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb, has dismissed rumors about Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif seeking a National Assembly (NA) confidence vote.
The minister ruled out any consultation among the coalition parties regarding such a move. Her statement comes after a section of electronic media aired news about Shehbaz Sharif making a surprise decision to take a vote of confidence from the National Assembly.
The media further claimed that Sharif would take the vote of confidence from the National Assembly on Thursday, April 27.
However, taking to Twitter the other day, Marriyum Aurangzeb clarified that there was no need for such a move as PM Shehbaz Sharif had already obtained a vote for the leader of the house on April 11, 2022.

Aurangzeb said the people, coalition parties, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had unanimously elected Shehbaz Sharif as the prime minister of the country. She added that there was no truth in the fabricated news and urged the media to refrain from publishing any news about the PM without verification.
