A fire broke out in a multi-story plaza located on Shahrae Faisal in Karachi on Friday. The media has reported that many people are inside the building.
According to rescue officials, the fire on the ninth floor of Kashif Centre spread quickly to the upper floors.
The firefighters said that many people were trapped in the plaza. Four vehicles of the fire brigade and a snorkel were engaged in extinguishing the fire.
The rescuers said that some people were reported to still be in the building and they were being evacuated from the building with the help of a snorkel.
Another snorkel has also been summoned, the rescue officials said, and added Kashif Centre building consists of fifteen floors.
On receiving the information, the vehicles of the fire brigade immediately arrived, the fire brigade official added.
The fire has been stopped from spreading further, the rescuers said.
A citizen coming out of the building said that there was no emergency exit in the building. He said the fire was spreading in the electric wires while the fire brigade arrived late.
