ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate has said that the level of mutual cooperation at a political level among Pakistan and Cuba denotes to extend the two-sided collaboration in various fields.
During meeting with Gabriel Tiel Capote, Ambassador of Cuba in Pakistan on Wednesday at Parliament House, Saleem Mandviwalla has said that the current trade volume between the two countries needs to be increased as there is a large scope for improvement.
He said that ample opportunities are there for investment and business delegations of the two sides need to increase interactions and dig into possibilities of investment. He said that Pakistan highly values its strong relations with Cuba and wants to further expand cooperation.
“We desire to further expand mutual collaboration in trade, education, and other fields,” Mandviwalla said. He also underlined the need for enhanced Parliamentary linkages to bring people of Cuba and Pakistan closer and pave the way for multi-sectoral coordination. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla also requested Speaker of the Cuban parliament to visit Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan and Cuba had backed up each other in times of need and splendid cooperation existed between the two at International forums. Deputy Chairman Senate desired that both sides would endeavor for creating a level playing field for investment and explore avenues to give advancements to trade and commerce.
The Cuban envoy Gabriel Tiel Capote thanked Saleem Mandviwalla on the warm welcome at the Parliament. He agreed with the views of Deputy Chairman Senate for increasing trade and commercial ties for mutual benefit.
