In a case similar to Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash’s suicide, a 30-year-old man who worked as a manager with TCS in Mumbai, Manav Sharma, ended his life in Agra after alleged harassment by his wife, Nikita Sharma (28).
According to a report by Indian media, before hanging himself on February 24, he recorded a 6-minute and 57-second video expressing distress over his marriage. Manav Sharma was known to be a dedicated professional and a loving son. His friends and colleagues described him as a cheerful person who was always willing to help others.
However, behind this outward positivity, he was struggling with severe emotional turmoil caused by conflicts in his marriage. What started as a seemingly happy relationship soon turned bitter, with frequent arguments and allegations taking a toll on his mental health.
In the video, Manav apologises to his parents and pleads for awareness of men’s struggles, stating, “Please, someone should talk about men. They become very lonely.” His words reflect the silent suffering that many individuals, particularly men, go through in troubled relationships in India.

In Pakistan’s neighboring country, Social stigma often prevents men them from speaking out or seeking help, leaving them feeling isolated and helpless. After an initially peaceful period, conflicts arose when his wife allegedly threatened false accusations and expressed interest in living with her boyfriend.
This betrayal and the looming threat of legal consequences left Manav feeling trapped. He struggled to make sense of his crumbling marriage, but the emotional burden became overwhelming. On February 23, Manav and his wife returned from Mumbai. Later, when he dropped her at her maternal home, he was reportedly threatened by her family.
These threats intensified his despair, making him feel as though he had no escape from the situation. The next morning, he took his own life, leaving behind grieving parents and unanswered questions about the mental health struggles that drove him to such a tragic decision.
