In a tragic incident of so-called honor killing, a man shot dead his sister and niece in Okara, Punjab.
The accused was later arrested along with the murder weapon from Depalpur after attempting to flee.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Jafar, a resident of Kharl Kalan village in Hujra Shah Muqeem, brought his sister Shamaila Bibi and niece Sidra Bibi from Lahore to the village a day earlier. During a heated argument, Jafar opened fire, killing both women on the spot.
Police reached the scene and shifted the bodies to the hospital for postmortem. After conducting raids, police apprehended the suspect in Depalpur.
Initial police investigations revealed that Shamaila and her daughter Sidra were working as domestic helpers in Lahore.
During interrogation, Jafar claimed that he killed his sister and niece over an alleged objectionable video.
