LODHRAN: A man reportedly strangled his infant grandson after being enraged over his daughter’s decision to marry by her own choice.
The woman lodged an FIR at a local police station against her father and accused him of murdering his own grandson. The woman said she had married by choice several months ago but her father did not approve of her marriage.
She claimed that her enraged father murdered her one-month-old child by strangling him to death in retaliation. Police said that the suspect has been arrested while they are conducting raids to arrest four other suspects in the case.
In October, a mother and her daughter were killed in the name of ‘honour’ in Rahim Yar Khan district of South Punjab. According to police, the bodies of two women were found in Zahir Pir. The women were reportedly murdered in the name of honour.
The local police initiated a case investigation and the bodies were sent to the hospital for regular legal proceedings. Police started probing the case while the suspects were still at large.
