LAHORE: Badar Rasheed, the man who filed the treason case against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has a criminal record, with cases registered against him in multiple Lahore police stations.
According to details, Babar Rasheed is nominated in various criminal cases including attempted murder, illegal weapons, and interference in government matters. The attempted murder case has been registered in the Shahdra Police Station, the same police station where the sedition case was registered.
An illegal weapons case was registered in the Sharqpur police station, while a case of interference in government matters and a scuffle with police were registered in Old Anarkali Police Station.

Meanwhile, PML-N’s lawmaker in Punjab Azma Bukhari has said that Badar fought the elections on a PTI ticket and is a union council chairman. “Badar Rasheed is also a member of the labour wing,” she added.
The police have confirmed that Rasheed has also been arrested in some cases. Some pictures of Rasheed along with Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar also emerged today (Tuesday).
Earlier on Monday, Nawaz Sharif and the top leadership of PML-N was named in a first information report (FIR) for delivering provocative speeches from London to defame Pakistan’s institutions.
Maryam Nawaz, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Pervez Rasheed, Khawaja, and Rana Sanaullah were also named in the case.
The Shahdara police registered the FIR under the sedition laws against Nawaz Sharif on the complaint of a citizen, Badar Rasheed, son of Rasheed Khan, a resident of Mohallah Khurshid Park, Shahdara, under sections 120, 120B, 121, 121A, 123A, 124, 124A, 153, 153A and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 10 of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.
