KARACHI: The district police on Thursday have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old man in Karachi’s Surjani Town, a police official confirmed.
According to details, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the accused, identified as Umair, at Surjani Town police station on the complaint of the victim’s father.
The girl, in the complaint, said the accused raped her several times and threatened her dire consequences if she reported the matter to anyone. The girl has been sent for medical examination, police said, adding a probe is on in the matter.
Earlier, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four men in Karachi’s Memon Goth, who filmed and later uploaded the incident’s video on social media.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Irfan Bahadur, Memon Goth police have arrested the four accused involved in the gang rape. The arrested accused were identified as Muzammil aged 14, Adeel aged 14, Ariz aged 14 and Subhan aged 15.
