Man arrested for raping minor niece in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: The police have arrested a man for sexually assaulting his minor niece in Bahawalpur.

7-year-old girl’s parents registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the suspect at Qaimpur police station, following which the victim’s uncle the suspect was arrested.

The police stated that the suspect had taken his 7-year-old niece into nearby fields where he reportedly sexually assaulted her until she lost consciousness. She was afterward shifted in an unconscious state to Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur.

Minors being sexually assaulted has become quite frequent in Punjab, last month, a 10-year-old boy was arrested for reportedly molesting a three-year-old girl in Kot Addu tehsil.
