KARACHI: A man who killed his friend earlier this month in Korangi Crossing area has been arrested.
The young man Kashif Khan, 35, was shot dead allegedly by his friend, Gulfaraz, in Bhittai Colony of Korangi. The suspect managed to escape from the spot and went into hiding.
The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities. Police launched a manhunt to arrest the suspect and ascertain the motive for the killing.
Zaman Town Police conducted a raid near Sohrab Goth and arrested the accused. Investigating authorities said the arrested suspect Gulfraz called the victim Kashif to his home on August 8 and killed him.
The confession statement of the arrested accused has been obtained which revealed the suspect killed the man over a minor dispute.
The suspect said he killed his friend in the name of “honour” after the victim made comments about his wife. He said Kashif used indecent words for his wife which angered him.
Police said the preliminary statement of the accused has been obtained and an investigation is ongoing into various aspects of the murder.
