Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said the second phase of the under-construction Shahrah-e-Bhutto Expressway (Malir Expressway) from Shah Faisal Colony to Quaidabad will be opened for vehicular traffic after Eidul Adha.
The Sindh Chief Minister chaired a meeting on Tuesday to assess the progress on Shahra-e-Bhutto. Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Special Assistant Qasim Naveed, Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, and others also joined the meeting.
During the meeting, the Sindh Chief Minister said that the work on Shahra-e-Bhutto from Shah Faisal Colony to Quaidabad Interchange is almost complete. Shahra-e-Bhutto will be opened for traffic up to Quaidabad Interchange immediately after Eid.
The Chief Minister was informed in a briefing that 50 percent of the work has been completed on the entry of Shahra-e-Bhutto from Jam Sadiq Bridge. The remaining 50 percent will be completed after the infrastructure of the Yellow Line is finalized.
The concerned officials informed the Sindh Chief Minister that the work on the EBM Interchange has been completed 100 percent, and the work on the southern portion of Quaidabad Interchange has been completed 98 percent.
The Sindh Chief Minister was also briefed on the elevated structure of Samu Goth. Out of 1,380 grids, 520 have been installed and 860 remain. Moreover, 44.4 percent of the work has been completed on the 4-kilometer section of the Samu Goth Expressway.
