LAHORE: Malik Asad Ali Khokhar on Sunday has resigned from the post of Punjab Minister for wildlife and fisheries.
According to details, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has also accepted the resignation of Malik Asad Khokhar. Sources informed that CM Buzdar decided to accept his resignation after consulting with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Malik Asad Khokhar said, “I was not removed from the ministry, I have submitted my resignation,” adding that he had taken this decision because he wasn’t able to focus on his constituency due to the responsibilities he had with the ministry.
The provincial government has also issued a notification regarding the acceptance of his resignation. He was appointed as Provincial Minister of Punjab for Fisheries and Wildlife back in December 2019.
The PTI leader was elected from PP-168 after he emerged victorious in a by-election held in 2018. The Punjab Assembly constituency PP-168 had been vacated by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz stalwart Khawaja Saad Rafique.
It is worth mentioning here that the Prime Minister had once again expressed confidence over the performance of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Saturday.
