RAWALPINDI: Major General Saqib Mehmood Malik was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, ISPR said on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) today, Lt Gen Malik has been appointed as the Chief of Logistics Staff, Pakistan Army.
Earlier, six major generals had been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general in the Pakistan Army.
According to Inter-Sevices Public Relations (ISPR), the promoted army generals included Major-General Akhtar Nawaz, Major-General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, Major-General Asif Ghafoor, Major-General Salman Fayyaz, Major-General Sarfraz Ali and Major-General Muhammad Ali.
Major General Asif Ghafoor has also been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General. According to the ISPR, newly appointed Lt Gen Ghafoor has been posted as Inspector General Communication and Information Technology at the General Headquarters.
Lt Gen Hayat has been appointed as the Military Secretary while Lt Gen Muhammad Ali has been appointed as Commander Army Strategic Forces Command (ASFC) respectively.
Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali has been appointed as Commander Southern Command in Quetta, Lt Gen Muhammad Abdul Aziz had been posted as the Corps Commander Lahore, Lt Gen Muhammad Waseem Ashraf as the Corps Commander Multan, Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as the Corps Commander Karachi and Lt Gen Khalid Zia Corps Commander Bahawalpur.
Lt Gen Majid Ehsan has been posted as Inspector General Arms while Lt Gen Syed Muhammad Adnan has been appointed the Inspector General Training and Evaluation.
