A lady from Karachi, is exactly that character whose strength and resolve should be inspiration for others. She has chosen what considered to be a men’s profession in our society and proving that you can do anything if you have the tenacity.
Let’s meet Karachi’s Mah Noor Baloch who drives a Hi-roof and provides Pick-and-drop service.
Trials and tribulation, sometimes, make you a stronger person. As it happened, Mah Noor Baloch learned driving on her son’s wishes. But after separation from her husband, driving has become a necessity.
Talking to MM News, Mah Noor Baloch said I always wanted to drive when I used to see my father driving a car. In 2010, I learned how to drive, I started driving with Suzuki FX for my son wanted to go to school in his own car. Initially it was my son’s passion that later became a need for the family.
“After separating from my husband in 2011,” she said “I started as a school van driver and now I provide people with pick and drop services.”
In reply to a question, she said she had driven her Hi-roof Bolan to as far as Khuzdar, Balochistan, she also visited all of interior Sindh.
“Now I want to visit Punjab and Quetta in my vehicle.” She added.
The lady van driver believed it’s her confidence that makes her want to do something new every day, else she would have just a school-van driver today.
“Sometimes people’s behavior are less than agreeable,” she said “They curse, and proposition me on some occasions, but I always remain firm.”
“Every human being acts according to their upbringing,” Mah Noor Baloch believed “Women should never be afraid of anyone, they should stand up to their problems and with courage they can make people respect them.”
Mah Noor Baloch wished to have a job in the Green Line or People’s Bus Service, she said she would be obliged if the government gave her a job.
Mah Noor Baloch, in her message to all women, said it is the women who shape up the whole society and when the women become weak, the whole society starts to rot.
