Lucky Motor increases prices of KIA-brand vehicles by up to Rs700,000

Lucky Motor Corporation (MMC) has increased the prices of several of its models in Pakistan by up to Rs. 700,000 from July 1, 2025.

According to the company, this decision has been taken in view of the current situation and the measures included in the federal budget.

The notification issued by the company to dealers says that it has always been our endeavor to provide customers with better quality products at reasonable prices, however, recent circumstances have had a profound impact on prices, including the implementation of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Levy in the federal budget, the continuous depreciation of the Pakistani rupee and the increase in international freight costs.

The company added that we made every effort to reduce the increasing costs and bear them ourselves, however, due to the current circumstances, the adjustment in prices from July 1 became inevitable.

The New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Levy introduced under the Finance Act 2025, which is applicable to all internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and motorcycles, has become effective from July 1, 2025. The implementation of this new tax has significantly and immediately increased the prices of vehicles.

The New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Levy is applicable to all types of vehicles — ranging from ordinary motorcycles to luxury SUVs (SUVs).

However, certain vehicles are exempted under this policy — including electric and hybrid vehicles (NEVs), vehicles manufactured only for export purposes, vehicles used by diplomatic missions, and vehicles of international organizations that enjoy diplomatic privileges.

Lucky Motors has increased the price of its hatchback vehicle Picanto AT by Rs 150,000. After this increase, the new price of the automatic variant has become Rs 40,090,000.

On the other hand, the price of the Kia Stonic EX Plus has been significantly increased by Rs 499,000, after which its new price has become Rs 59,090,000, similarly, the price of the Stonic EX variant has been increased by Rs 95,000, after which it will be available for Rs 48,060,000.

The company has also significantly increased the prices of various variants of the Sportage and Sorento.

The new price of the Sportage Alpha has been set at Rs 88,090,000, while the Sportage FWD is now available for Rs 14,090,000. The price of the Sportage HEV variant has been increased by Rs. 600,000, after which its new price has become Rs. 11.59 million.

The new price of the Kia Sorento 3.5L V6 has been increased to Rs. 13.89 million, while the ex-factory rate of the Sorento 3.5L V6-EMI has become Rs. 14.39 million, with the prices of both variants increased by Rs. 400,000.

On the other hand, the Sorento HEV FWD and its EMI variant will be available for Rs. 15.29 million and Rs. 15.79 million respectively. The prices of both models have been increased by Rs. 600,000.

The Sorento HEVA AWD and its EMI variant have seen the biggest increase of Rs 7 lakh, with the models now available at Rs 16.69 crore and Rs 17.19 crore respectively.

The Kia Carnival, a premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), is now available at Rs 18.2 crore, a significant increase of Rs 7 lakh.

Interestingly, there has been no change in the prices of Kia’s electric vehicles — the EV5 Air, EV5 Earth, and VV9. All customer orders invoiced on or after July 1, 2025, will be charged at the new ex-factory prices.
