The Lahore High Court has approved the appointment of 33 new civil judges in the subordinate judiciary, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Chief Justice Aalia Neelum on Tuesday approved the appointment of 33 new civil judges on the recommendation of the examination committee.
The newly appointed judges are:

- Muhammad Nabeel Latif
- Salimullah Malik
- Arooj Rehman
- Iqra Basharat
- Maria Sabir
- Zahra Jamil

- Saira Shahzadi
- Muhammad Usman
- Sahar Atyab
- Muhammad Ahmed
- Muhammad Naeem Ilyas
- Shoaib Sikandar
- Khawla Shahid
- Zahida Parveen
- Shabnam Saleem

It should be noted that The High Court of Punjab is the appointing authority for civil judges, including Civil Judges-cum-Judicial Magistrates. Recruitment typically involves a competitive examination conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
Once appointed, civil judges undergo training at the Punjab Judicial Academy to enhance their skills and knowledge.
New appointees usually serve a probation period, which can vary but is typically around two years, extendable up to three years.
