With her newest song, a complete cover of the Christmas classic “Jingle Bell Rock,” Lindsay Lohan is harkening back to her “Mean Girls” days.
She sang the song in 2004 with Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, and she later covered it for her new Netflix movie, “Falling for Christmas.”
During a talent contest in “Mean Girls,” the foursome performed a lewd dance to the song before singing a cappella when Gretchen Wieners tossed their boombox off the stage.
According to the streamer, Lohan plays a “newly engaged, privileged hotel heiress” in “Falling for Christmas” who experiences amnesia following a skiing mishap. In the days running up to Christmas, after losing her memories, she “finds herself in the care of a beautiful, blue-collar lodge owner,” portrayed by Chord Overstreet, “and his precocious daughter.”
The film marks Lohan’s return to rom-coms and is her first starring film role in nearly a decade.
The movie hits Netflix on November 10.
