ISLAMABAD: The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in a joint operation in Islamabad’s Bani Gala arrested seven people, including the head of the group, involved in land grabbing.
According to details, the Law Enforcement Agencies handed over the seven suspects to the district police later. Several cases were registered against the arrested accused and investigation has been launched.
The law agencies further informed that they have recovered several illegal weapons including Ak-47 and bullets form the possessions of the detained accused.
In this regard, Inspector-General (IG) of Police Islamabad has issued clear orders to the police and said that if any police officer was found involved with the Land Mafia, departmental action would be taken against him.
Earlier, the resident of the areas had repeatedly filed applications against the land mafia. The victims have claimed that the land mafia had illegally occupied their lands and houses.
On July 14, it was revealed that with the formation of private housing societies in Islamabad’s Bani Gala, the land mafia is illegally occupying lands of poor people under the alleged patronage of PTI leader Aleem Khan.
