Sessions Judge Sharaf-ud-Din Shah from Larkana made a significant announcement on Monday, deciding to resign from his position due to what he describes as “inappropriate behavior” from Justice Saleem Jaisar of the Sindh High Court (SHC), as reported by a private TV channel.
The sessions judge formally submitted his resignation to the Sindh High Court Registrar. According to the judge, there were several reasons behind his decision. He alleges that Justice Saleem Jaisar sent him a message through the Additional Registrar after he refused to approve a peon’s job against established rules for a person favored by the judge.
In the resignation letter, the sessions judge claims that Justice Saleem Jaisar became upset with him after the refusal. Additionally, the judge asserts that Muhammad Malook, who previously worked as Justice Jaisar’s clerk, threatened him for not granting a job to their preferred candidate.
Furthermore, the sessions judge alleges that during an inspection visit by Justice Saleem Jaisar, the Additional Registrar, despite being junior, continually issued directives. The judge also mentions that “wrong notices” written by Justice Jaisar against him went viral on social media without any evidence.
The sessions judge, who has been part of the judicial system for 27 years, expresses that he cannot continue his work in an environment of utter disgrace. This resignation comes as a response to the alleged misconduct and unfavorable working conditions attributed to Justice Saleem Jaisar.
