The Islamabad Food Authority conducted a raid and recovered 25 maunds of donkey meat. Orders have been issued to dispose of the large quantity of donkey meat.
According to the spokesperson of the Islamabad Food Authority, more than 50 donkeys and a large quantity of meat were recovered in Tarnol. The Director of the Food Authority has ordered immediate registration of a case against those involved.
The spokesperson of the Islamabad Food Authority said that the Food Authority team is disposing of the donkey meat. According to Islamabad Food Authority’s Deputy Director Dr. Tahira Siddique’s initial investigations, this meat was being supplied abroad.
She said that a total of 25 maunds of meat was recovered by the Food Authority team, and a foreign national present at the scene was handed over to the police.
Deputy Director Dr. Tahira Siddique also stated that investigations are ongoing regarding the areas where the meat was supplied.
