An incident of shocking cruelty unfolded when an influential landlord in Sanghar severed the leg of a poor man’s camel after the animal wandered into his field for grazing.
According to reports, the landlord and his employees initially subjected the camel to brutal treatment. However, in a fit of rage, the landlord proceeded to amputate one of the camel’s legs using a sharp tool.
In response to this appalling act, the owner of the camel, Somer Bhan, carried the severed limb to the Press Club Sanghar in protest. There, he denounced the landlord’s actions, highlighting that such extreme measures were taken merely because the animal had passed through the landlord’s land.
The incident gained public attention following the protest, prompting media coverage which subsequently pressured the Sanghar police to take action. However, instead of filing charges against the influential landlord, the police registered a case against unidentified individuals at Mangali police station.
Expressing his dismay, the camel’s owner emphasized the injustice of the situation, noting that the perpetrator had not been held accountable despite the severity of the crime.
The case has sparked outrage among residents and animal rights activists, who are demanding justice for the camel and stricter penalties for those responsible for such acts of cruelty.
