Land mafia illegally occupying lands in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Afghan land mafia was illegal occupying lands of deprived people in Islamabad with the alleged support of the district police.

According to details, the land mafia has occupied the inherited lands in Islamabad’s Constituency 45 with the alleged support of influential personalities.

Sources have informed that the land mafia uses illegal weapons publicly. The residents of the area had sent several applications to DC Islamabad and Inspector General of Police in this regard.

After repeated requests from the resident, the district police have registered an FIR against the land mafia but did not mention the use of illegal weapons. The land mafia also held deprived women of UC-45 hostage today (Thursday) but no action has been taken.

Sources further claimed that the leader of the land mafia, Chaudhry Jahangir, is demolishing the houses of the deprived families and illegal occupying the land. He is also the chairman of the conciliation committee of the Noon police station.

The residents have appealed to the government to take stern action against the land mafia and the police officials. They have demanded to arrest the leader of the land mafia and the suspension of police officials and SHO of Noon police station.
