LAHORE: A local court in Lahore granted physical remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf in a land fraud case. The Anti-Corruption Punjab on December 27 had arrested Muslim League (N) Member National Assembly Chaudhary Muhammad Ashraf on charges of fraud and forgery.
The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) alleges that Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf has taken possession of 157 acres 1 kanal 16 marla of government land by forgery and fraud, using fake ‘gardawari’ in connivance with Muhammad Salim Patwari and Ali Gardawar.

The Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf was produced before the district and sessions court, Lahore where Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) sought his physical remand.
After hearing arguments, the court approved 2-day physical remand of Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf.
The lawmaker has been arrested after confirmation of the charge. A case has also been registered against the PML-N lawmaker, the spokesperson said.
