A concerning trend of individuals taking risks to record TikTok videos has resulted in numerous accidents. In a recent incident in Lahore’s Sabzazar area, a young man was injured while attempting to film a TikTok video with a pet lion.
According to police, the man, identified as Azeem, entered the lion’s cage to get a closer look and record the video. The lion attacked him, inflicting injuries to his head, face, and arms.
Azeem was immediately rushed to Jinnah Hospital, where he received emergency treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable. Police stated that the victim has not filed a complaint about the incident.
The lion belongs to Mian Umar Dola, the owner of the breeding farm where the attack occurred.
Following the incident, the Director General of Punjab Wildlife ordered legal action against the farm owner and directed the cancellation of the farm’s breeding license.
This incident coincides with recent changes in Punjab’s laws concerning exotic animals. The provincial cabinet has approved amendments banning the keeping of lions and similar species in residential areas and prohibiting their use in TikTok videos or other social media content.
