Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that temperatures in Lahore are expected to rise above 40°C in the next three days.
Currently, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, contributing to the ongoing hot and dry weather pattern. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature in Lahore was recorded at 37°C. However, the Met Office forecasts that the mercury is set to climb steadily, with Lahore likely to experience temperatures exceeding 40°C within the next three days.
Other cities in Punjab are also expected to face intense heat. In Jhelum, the temperature may hit 41°C during this period.
“Hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country,” said a spokesperson from the PMD. “Southern plain areas are likely to experience very hot daytime temperatures.”
While the majority of the country will face dry conditions, some northern regions may see brief weather relief. The PMD has predicted partly cloudy weather accompanied by isolated rain, wind, or thunderstorms in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Authorities are urging the public to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours.
