Maliha Ali, a student of Lahore Garrison University, achieved a remarkable feat by winning a Bronze Medal at the KASAD’s 6th Asian Taekwondo Championship held in the Tangerang city of Indonesia.
Competing in the 73kg category, Maliha showcased her skills against top athletes from over 275 nations including India, Uzbekistan, and Malaysia.
The event, hosted at the Indore Stadium Sports Center, witnessed tough competition. Maliha’s victory highlights Pakistan’s athletes’ strength internationally and is a source of inspiration to young athletes.
Maliha Ali is from the Hunza valley and she is among the Gilgit Baltistan students studying at the Garrison University Lahore on scholarships.
Pakistan’s 16-member squad, led by Lieutenant Colonel Zeeshan Aslam, with Master Yusuf Karami as the head coach prepared extensively for the championship.
Maliha’s victory marks a significant moment for the Lahore Garrison University, bringing pride to her institution and her country.
