A resident of Lahore has filed a Rs12 million lawsuit in a consumer court against private airline Fly Jinnah, accusing the airline of refusing to accommodate his medical dietary restrictions and subjecting him to mistreatment.
According to the complaint submitted by the plaintiff, Waqas Anjum, the incident occurred during a Karachi-to-Lahore flight when he requested a vegetarian meal due to medical advice against consuming meat.
Anjum alleged that the airline staff failed to provide any alternative food options, despite his repeated requests.
Anjum further claimed that when he protested the staff’s behavior, he was mistreated and later physically assaulted upon arrival at the airport.
“Doctors had strictly advised me against eating meat. I requested any alternate food, but was denied. When I raised my voice, I was beaten at the airport,” he stated.
The lawsuit seeks Rs12 million in damages for what Anjum describes as physical and emotional distress, dietary neglect, and a violation of consumer rights.
The consumer court has scheduled a hearing on the case for May 27.
