KARACHI: Karachi University’s (KU) Department of Physiology is holding a three-day Probe (Physiology Resonates and Ozonizes Biological Existence) 2020 Conference from 7th January 2019.
The provincial minister for Women Development Syeda Shehla Raza would be the chief guest of the inaugural session of the conference. The Chairman Department of Physiology KU Professor Dr Taseer Ahmed said that researchers and scholars would attend the biennial scientific meetup.
He mentioned that PROBE is a three-day Conference that includes a keynote session, plenary lectures, oral and poster presentations. The conference is themed as ‘Molecules to Mechanisms’; reflecting the contemplative and incredible role of Physiology in life sciences.
He added that the conference would be inaugurated at 3: 00 pm by the KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi while provincial minister Syeda Shehla Raza who is also an alumnus of the department, member Pakistan Medical Commission, Professor Dr Rumina Hasan.
The former vice-chancellor of the varsity and Alumnus Physiology, Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim and world-renowned scientists including the former Chairman Pakistan Council for Science and Technology Professor Dr Anwar ul Hasan Gilani and Professor Dr Ahsana Dar Farooq among others would attend the event.
He mentioned that students and intellectuals from nationwide institutions including Bahauddin Zakria University (Multan), Islamia University (Bahawalpur), University of Health Sciences (Lahore), University of Sindh (Jamshoro) are participating in PROBE 2020.
According to him, four pre-conference workshops entitled as; 1) Medical Social Work; An opportunistic field, a hidden treasure, 2) Structural Bioinformatics: Discover the world unknown to many, 3) Handling, Ethics and Ultrasound applications on Laboratory Animals and 4) Life in Vivo; Non-invasive lab techniques in Physiology would be conducted on Monday (today).
He also mentioned that the event is supported by the Higher Education Commission-Pakistan, Pakistan Science Foundation, Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization and World Poultry Science Association.
