KARACHI: The University of Karachi has conducted a special entry test for the candidates, who were unable to appear in the entry test of the morning bachelor’s program due to COVID-19.
The entry test was started at 11:00 am at the Directorate of Admissions. The candidates had 100-minutes to solve their question paper. According to the in-charge Directorate of Admissions Dr Saima Akhtar, six candidates were unable to appear in the entry test scheduled on December 13, 2020, as they were tested positive for coronavirus or having symptoms of the Covid-19.
She mentioned that six candidates have submitted their applications on the official web portal and informed the varsity’s admission committee that they were unable to appear in the entry test conducted on December 13, 2020, and also submitted their medical reports.
Dr Saima said that five students out of total of six candidates before appearing in the special entry test held on Friday submitted their medical report and staff also checked their body temperature with the help of a thermal gun.
The results of the candidates were announced within 15 minutes after submission of the answer booklets, she informed. Meanwhile, the University of Karachi also shows the correct answer key and answer booklets to 63 candidates who were not satisfied with their results and had submitted their applications on the official web portal of the varsity to see their booklets and correct answers.
Dr Saima Akhtar said that students along with their parents visited the Directorate of Admissions to see their answer sheets and the correct answers.
She added that on the special directives of the KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi the candidates were shown the answer sheets and those who were suffering from Covid-19 or had symptoms during the entry test dates were allowed to appear in the special entry test.
