PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced provide free ration to families of coronavirus patients in the province.
The measures took up after provincial health minister Taimur Jhagra had confirmed 15 coronavirus patients in the province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial relief department’s officials said the ration will be given to those patients who will stay at government quarantine hospitals.
The ration package includes 20 kg flour bag, five kg pulses, 10 kg rice, and milk. The authorities have issued a notification in this regard after endorsement from the Chief Minister of the province.
Earlier, Health Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Taimur Jhagra had said that as many as 15 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the province.
On a social media website he had tweeted: “Just received news that 15 of 19 individuals received in KP from Taftan have tested positive for coronavirus.
“These are the first positive cases in KP. They are being well looked after in quarantine in an isolated facility in DI Khan. More details soon.”

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan had risen to 183 after more people tested positive across the country.
Sindh had become the worst affected province of Pakistan as another 47 new cases have been tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
