PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has reshuffled the provincial cabinet after expressing dissatisfaction over several ministers performances.
Mehmood Khan has added two more ministers and eight special assistants to the cabinet. Communication and Works minister Akbar Ayub Khan has now been given charge of the Education department.
Interestingly, the minister’s highest qualification is matriculation. According to KP Assembly’s website, the Haripur lawmaker completed his matric in 1988. He has been serving as communication and works minister since August 30, 2018. He served as an adviser in the communication and works department from 2014-2018.
Iqbal Wazir and Shah Mahmood were the two new ministers added to the cabinet during the reshuffle. Minister for Local Bodies Shahram Khan Tarakai has now been given charge of the Health Ministry. Minister for Health Hisham Inamullah’s portfolio has now been changed to minister for Social Welfare.
Former special assistant for Information Technology (IT) to the chief minister, Kamran Bangash, has now been assigned the portfolio of Local Bodies.
The chief minister has also appointed Arif Ahmed Zai, Riaz Khan, Shafi Ullah, Zahoor Shakir Wazir Zada, Azam Swati, Ghazan Jamal and Taj Muhammad as his new special assistants.
