KARACHI: Following the orders of Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani, the concerned authorities have directed the district directors to recollect all grade-nine English textbooks and republish them after correction.
According to details, the secretary of Sindh Textbook Board Jamshoro has issued a notification to all district directors to rectify erroneous information about Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) identified in them.
It is worth mentioning here that the ninth grade English textbook published by Sindh Textbook Board Jamshoro did not mention the ‘Khatam-un-Nabiyeen’ with the name of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
Earlier, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani directed the authorities to rectify erroneous information about Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) identified in them.
In a statement, Saeed Ghani said, “It was brought to my notice the previous night that some important words, present in previous editions, had been expunged from this year’s edition.” In this regard, he said that he held multiple meetings and issued directives to make corrections.
He had also ordered an inquiry into the matter so that it could be clarified whether the mistake was deliberate or not. He said that in case it was found that the mistake was deliberate, action would be taken against responsible persons.
In June, the National Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution making it mandatory to write ‘Khatam-un-Nabiyeen’ (Finality of the Holy Prophet) along with Prophet Muhammad’s (S.A.W) name in official documents, books and wherever the holy name is used.
