Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga”, a Western drama that delves into American history spanning 15 years, from the pre- to post-Civil War period, has quietly made its way to Netflix.
The film was initially released in theaters in late June, followed by a PVOD release in mid-July and a streaming debut on Max in August 2024.
Costner not only stars in but also directs and co-writes this expansive saga. The first chapter of Horizon concluded its theatrical run in August, earning $31 million globally, according to The Numbers.

Despite the film’s modest performance, Costner is undeterred in his vision for a four-film epic, emphasizing that he intends to see the story through to its conclusion.
While the first chapter of Horizon: An American Saga is now available on Netflix, the future of the second chapter remains uncertain. The second installment, already filmed but postponed, is set to release in 2025 and was previewed at the Venice Film Festival.
