Earlier on Monday, Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ) also condemned the killing Arshad Sharif in a shootout incident and demanded the arrest of the police officers involved in the killing.
“From the police record there is more than meet the eye in the death of Mr Sharif and we demand thorough investigations to unravel motive of the shooting,” the KUJ said in a statement, adding that Kenya police had admitted that the shooting incident was carried out by General Service Unit officers in an ambush following a signal over car theft/abduction.
It demanded that the official involved in the incident should be charged in court for the killing.
“We sent our heartfelt condolence to Mr Sharif’s family and Pakistani media fraternity,” it added.
