SRINAGAR: The Indian government has shifted the burial place of a senior Kashmiri leader as Syed Ali Geelani has been buried in his hometown of Haiderpur.
According to details, Indian forces did not allow the burial of senior Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani in the graveyard of martyrs today. Only close relatives attended the funeral and burial.
Senior Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani was buried in Haiderpur under Indian Army siege. The oppressed Kashmiri people and other Hurriyat leaders were not even allowed to pay their last respects, which is why Kashmiris are protesting.

The Indian Army, which has illegally occupied Kashmir, allowed close relatives attending the funeral prayers to pay their last respects, while Syed Ali Geelani’s family wanted to bury him in Srinagar.
The family wanted to bury Syed Ali Geelani at the Martyrs’ Shrine in Srinagar. Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference appealed to the oppressed Kashmiris to come out of their homes to expose the Indian atrocities. Hurriyat leaders say that Syed Ali Geelani has been a great asset of the Kashmir struggle for more or less 70 years in the occupied valley.
