Kashmir to be free soon from India’s reign of terror: PM Imran

MM News Staff by MM News Staff

MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan strongly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that he is trapped and that the people of Kashmir will be free soon from India’s reign of terror.
Addressing the Azad Kashmir assembly today (Wednesday) on the occasion of Kashmir Siege Day (Youm-e-Istehsal), the Prime Minister said that Narendra Modi committed a big mistake by amending the constitution and stripping away the special status of IoK.
“I believe that the people of Kashmir are going through an era of suffering which will end in victory for them,” he added. PM Imran further said, “Modi was afraid of revoking Article 370, but after winning the election, Modi took the disastrous step.”
The premier also said that Modi assumed that Pakistan would stay silent. “When India was using pellet guns in IoK, No one raised voices against India before our government. Neither Pakistan nor the United Nation,” he added.
“The main reason behind revoking Article 370 was ’Pride’. Modi thought that the world would back India after he would unleash his RSS thugs in the occupied territory. He thought Kashmiris would surrender,” he added.
He clarified, “We have not accepted defeat, and Kashmiris will also not surrender. Let me tell you, nations have made huge blunders in the past based on proud decisions.”
‘International Support’
PM Imran pointed out that the international media was criticizing India on such a large scale for the first time. “On the other hand, the United Nations discussed the Kashmir issue thrice during the last year. It also published two reports on human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir,” he added.
“I had personally highlighted the Kashmir issue to world leaders. I explained to United States President twice how Kashmir was a flashpoint. I talked to German Chancellor Merkel, United Kingdom premier, French president Macron, explained to them, made them understand,” he informed.
“At first, the New York Times wouldn’t let me write on the issue for them,” he said. “I went there and explained the NYT board over there to make them understand,” he added.
He further said, “What Modi did in Gujrat, he would not have been allowed to become a leader in the country,” adding that Modi was exposed in front of the world, the biggest result of which is that people are now looking towards the situation in Kashmir.
The premier further informed that there have been discussions in the European Union parliament, and in the British parliament on the issue of Kashmir. He also praised the Pakistani government for raising awareness about the issue.
He paid tribute to Kashmiris for how their morale is high even after such torture and provocation. “There was so much hatred in people for India that no pro-India politician would be able to succeed in occupied Kashmir,” he added.
‘New Political Map’
Commenting on the new political map, PM Imran said that Pakistan needed to react and tell the world that this was a disputed territory, more so after India claimed Gilgit-Baltistan and other territories were part of its federation.
The premier described Syed Ali Geelani as a “big leader” of not only Kashmir but also of the region. “We will honour Syed Ali Geelani with the Nishan-e-Pakistan award on August 14,” he announced.
